Step 1. Input your estimated take off quantities into the quantities column against each line item.

Step 2. Input your materials cost pricing (your buy price) into the materials column against each line item.

Step 3. The existing preloaded generic labour rates will then auto calculate your labour hours quantities estimated to perform the work. You can review and easily adjust these rates if they are not suitable for your determination.

Step 4. In the summaries section at the bottom of each page/area input your estimated percentages and rates into the highlighted cells for :

• Materials mark up percentage.

Add any amounts into the supervision page and that’s all you have to do and the sheet will do all the calculations for you. The template then does the work estimating sell price, estimating profit amount and percentage overall and individually for each  section of the estimate along with a comprehensive summaries page of automatically calculating averages and summaries and an hours breakdown.

This all then automatically translates to a customer breakdown page and a customer letter of offer page which you can customize and add your business details, customer details, job description and any inclusions, exclusions, qualifications etc. then PDF and send to your customer. Its that simple!

This template is presented in a superior format that divides the main areas of the project being  Cat5e/6/6a UTP/STP, Optical fiber, Voice, Cable Pathways, Equipment racks and earthing, Access hire and  Supervision/other over separate spreadsheet pages breaking them down as if they are separate projects within the project complete with their own individual summaries section where rates can be adjusted. This translates to a better overview and greater perspective of your estimate. There are also automatic hours subtotals throughout each page to assist with an even smaller breakdown perspective. Each page/area  has its own summary section where you input your labour cost rate, labour charge out rate , lost time percentage and materials markup percentage to give flexibility to each area of the project especially when pricing subcontractor rates for some areas of your project or if you charge higher rates for certain specialized areas such as Optical fiber work.
